Marx would have hated the word 'spiritual', but as he was so obsessed with the topics of alienation, happiness/unhappiness and fulfillment I don't suppose he was too far away from some kind of notion of spirituality

He would insist that alienation is glued to material factors though

"From each according to his ability, to each according to his needs" is a pretty clear aknowledgment of individual merit

Legitimacy of private ownership - no
