Civics and Citizenship -Public Speaking?

I am competing in a regional final of a public speaking competition tomorrow. The improptu topic will be based on "civics and citizenship. can any1 suggest a possible topic? something that would perhaps be relevant to Australia's youth today? and what i need to know .

I would just tell them to take to heart that the government right to govern is by the peoples consent and freedom should not be bargained  away because it doesn't have to. People are powerful when their together and right.
