Cartilage piercing hurts, is this an infection?

I have had my cartilage pierced on saturday, it is now monday, and it is really tender. there is ALOT of swelling and my ear has gone hard.

i have had my cartilage peirced before, about a year ago, on the right ear, and it was fine.
but ive now had another peircing above that + another one on my left side (cartilage also)

the swelling looks as if its eating the top of the earing..
and i got it peirced at a beauty salon, with a gun...

its continuously throbbed throughout the 2 days of having it peirced..

1. what should i do?
2. should i take it out?
3. leave it, it should be okay?
4. is it infected?
5. is this normal that it hurts/ throbbs/ swells that much?

PLEASE REPLY ASAP!

  1.  Take it out definitely because it may swell over the earring and you would have to get it CUT out!!!!! And go to the beauty-salon where you got it done and have them look at it. When you take it out use a bit of cotton wool or buds or whatever and put some ear solution on it-claires sell an expensive but good one.

Also another reason I would definitely say to take it out is that possible your ear cartilage has shattered so yes... good luck xxxxx

  2. i got my cartilage pierced about a year ago and then 3 days ago, i pierced two more cartilage piercings on the same ear, i did this myself with a needle. what i didnt realize was that sometimes when you already have a cartilage piercing your more prone to fracturing you cartilage. i have the same symtoms, shooting pain, hurts when i touch it, and i cant even bend my ear the slightest. so i went to the piercing salon where i got my belly button pierced and she said that its normal for your second or third cartilage piercing on the same ear. the reason why it hurts is because its really bruised. to help the pain go away you put a hot wet cloth on your ear and make sure you put an ear solution and salt water on it every day. hope this helped! :)

  3. i would def. take it out swelling & discoloration are signs of infection

  4. go to a doctor idk
