Cant date till 18 !?

i am 13 and i lik this guy but i cant date in till i am 18! i am a responible young lady and i cant date because my mom had a baby at 16. i find this not fair. i mean i see their mistakes and will not follow them not daying my sister was a mistake but u kno... well anyways my dad gets so mad if i ask because i mean he hates guys and i have such nice guy friends but he hates them please help

13 is young to be dating.

but as you get older and your behavior changes maybe they'll change there mind.

Your parents have their reasons, fair or unfair.

They give you "rules" because they're trying to guide you in a direction they feel is right and keep you from things either they're afraid of or afraid of things that can happen to you.

Seeing that you're stating you're a responsible young lady, you should talk to them so and discuss with them your opinion and how you feel.

I mean yea, its unfair for them to do that and I've seen similiar situations and the girls end up sneaking around.

I think you should just talk to them reasonably and see what happens from there.

Well most parents are really precocious n thier children now a days cause lil kids now are thinking about having s*x at such a young age. so your parents are doing it to keep you safe.

Talk to your mom and try to get her on your side, then tell your dad what u told us, youre responsible and most guys are really nice, specially the ones u hang out with.

Being a teen mother and still a teenager myself, its such a scary world out there! Your parents just want to protect you! I feel like 13 is still a bit young, 14 or 15 sounds like a much better age to be "dating" a boy. Sit down with your parents and talk to them about dating, assure them that your just talking, & not actually dating anyone-let them know that you understand the word no & that what your parents say-you take into consideration & follow. Let them lay down some ground rules & then let them know why you feel like your old enough to date.

Trust me, I don't think your going to find your soulmate at 13 years old--so don't rush! Things always work themselves out :)

Your parents are 100% correct. You shouldn't date until you're 18. You're only 13 years old for crying out loud. What do you need to date a guy for?

When you are 13 you are too young but 18 is too old. While they are trying to protect you, they(and most parents who think that) need to understand that dating at a younger age teaches the dater what they should do in the future. Some people think that dating too young is bad because...well they are too young! They have an right to think what they want. But if you date youngER you learn lessons that will help your dating future tremendously. Try suggesting 16 or 15.

Wait till your 16 and your folks will probably lax out a bit about it by then, you dont really wanna be dating at 13 anyhow, just have friends and save the dating till your older, dating really does get super complicated and it can go pear shaped really easy especially if your dating other boys in your same school. If things dont work out then it can be really embarrassing especially if they were all nice as pie to start with and then turn out to be wanks and spread rumours etc, that can be devastating. Also the best way to get your parents to come round later would be to show them that you make good choices and are responsible and have a good mature outlook on things like boys and school etc, then they wont feel they need to pick up the slack for you and protect you so much. And this isnt something you can do in 5 minutes but over the next few years. But yeah, leave the dating till then and find some girl friends to hang with instead.

i think that 16 would be a better age. why dont you just wait because at this age, its pretty impossible and unlikely that you could marry them or something, so for now its best to stay friends anyway. just act responsible then when you are older just ask kindly.

im so ssorry. i couldnt date till i was 16 and theres wasnt even a point.it made me so mad sometimes but as ive gotten older ive realized its really a good idea to just be friends with guys and learn how to make good relationships without having to date. idk what i would have done if i couldnt till 18, i think u will probably end up going behind their backs and when you do just DONT do anything ur not ready for. no s*x of course since thats the whole point of not being able to date. but id definetaly wait till atleast 16. it was good for me and even tho it makes you hate your parents, ul b greatful u waited in the end
