  1. Write about Veblen goods if you want an obscure topic that no one else will do.  It is a terribly easy concept to understand and there are so many simple examples of it in the real world.  A Veblen good is a status symbol good, and as price decreases, demand decreases because that good is no longer viewed as a status symbol with it's lower price.  The opposite applies for a price increase on the good.  Price goes up and so does demand, since at the higher price less people can afford it it becomes more desireable.  Write about Ferraris or famous paintings or anything that costs a whole heck of a lot :-)
