Can a 17-year-old move out in Michigan without parental consent or would that be kidnapping?

    look at that site. At 17, in Michigan, you are not considered a child, adult, or minor. You can not be handled in a juvenile court, and you cannot be reported as a runaway because that law applies to someone who is YOUNGER than 17. I can promise you that if you called a local, or state police department like I did, they will explain to you that in Michigan, there is a "loop hole" or "grey area" in the laws, that prevents a parent or law-enforcement, to make the child come home (unless you are on probation or court order stating otherwise). Good Luck, and make wise choices. Remember, even if your parents get mad and you must come back home, they cannot "kick you out". That is against the law in Michigan.
