I've heard many rumors that beta blockers help psoriasis however when i Google it, it turns up some results that they have been known to aggravate the condition.

have they been known to help?

Any input would be appreciated.

  1. Psoriasis can actually be a side effect of taking beta blockers. Other studies show that the drug exacerbates an existing psoriasis condition.

  2. I haven't heard anything about this.  Perhaps you're confusing "beta blockers" with "TGF-beta"?

TGF-beta has been proposed as a treatment for chronic inflammatory conditions (not blocking TGF-beta, but rather, giving doses of it).  Other treatments that have been successful in the treatment of psoriasis are those that block/inhibit TNF-alpha.

    Hope that helps!
