  1. For HUs I like The top models from Pioneer, Eclipse, Clarion, McIntosh and Nakamichi.

For amplifiers I like several brands ... Genesis are really nice but expensive, Massive Audio along with many others are really nice for the price.

For Subs and speakers I like many brands not typically used in car audio like Peerless, Dayton and Seas, and quite a few car stereo brands as well.

  2. boss it best... always best over any other leading brand.... why settle for less?  when get done buy a aston martin vanquish, why settle for less or driving a cheap car!

  3. pioneer is my vote

  4. alpine is the best out of the list my first was a used alpine from 2000 it never skipped on cds even when other cd players would cuz the cd was scrached i only upgraded this Christmas cuz i wanted to hook my ipod to it so i got a new alpine and i love it

  5. you cant go wrong with a pioneer

  6. alpines are known for being great headunits since the early 1990's. pioneers only make quality brands, but alpines are better. JVC isn't worth the money, panasonic isn't worth it unless you want to watch something on a DVD or TV screen in your car. Sony is cheap and not great quality. Kenwood is the best there is, ranging headunits between $60 and $1400. Best quality, sound, style, and overall rating would go to Kenwood.

  7. by far the best sound would be from an eclipse... they are long lasting too!  ive had one since 2000 with no problems.

If your looking to not spend that much.. id say pioneer. Alpines are ok as well but ive seen alot of problems when they get older

    hope this helps

  8. I have always used Pioneer as I found I can get the better prices on Pioneer, and Im happy with the quality. That said, Pioneer are lacking a lot of stuff that Kenwood and Alpine include on basic head units.

I had to buy a top of the line Pioneer unit to get a seperate RCA out for subs, while on mid ranged Kenwoods it was standard.

I have been told to avoid Sony, as they are too powerful and tend to overheat and blow up. I know I have removed several  Sony units as they just stopped working after a bit of loud music playing, so I belive that.

Panasonic seems to be good, however the lights, displays and multi colour changing doesnt appeal to me. It draws attention to the car and I dont like that. They are a good quality unit, just too 'flashy' for my liking.

I have never used Kenwood, as there has never been a Kenwood supplier in my town.

I currently have a JVC DVD player in my car, bought it second hand and I have had no problems whatsoever with it. It plays everything I want it to play with no problems, is loud enough for my liking and fits in the dash well.

Any of the top brands are ok, but you missed out Blaupunkt, which is probably one of the best brands on the market.

I would skip buying a Sony, for reasons I said, and of late, they have gone from a auto parts brand to a K Mart brand. My K Mart shopping centre sells them, and cheap, so their quality must have dropped a lot.

  9. im a realy big fan of alpine head units
