Electronic Arts has taken its sweet time in making the application available for download, which looks to expand the game’s experience.
EA is following a policy of ensuring that all their major franchises are available, in some form or the other, on nearly every platform there is. That includes social networking sites, video game consoles and now on tablets and Smartphones as well, as EA
has just released the Battlelog app.
Although not a game, the application is directly linked with a player’s profile and statistics, weapon preferences, accuracy with a particular weapon, Kills-to-deaths ratio and other stats can be found on the app.
For those who are familiar with Battlelog on PCs, well they should feel right at home with the app as it has all the features as its PC counterpart with the exception of instant voice chat.
The first version of the app includes the following features:
Battle Feed, which allows a person to stay up-to-date with their friend’s activity within the game, be it when they “unlock new weapons or get new awards”.
At the same time the Com Centre, allows players to see which of their friends are currently partaking in a bit of BF3 action and “what servers they are playing on”. Gamers can also plan matches via the app as well.
The Stats and Unlocks feature allows player to “track your progress and performance on the battlefield with detailed soldier stats” as well granting users the ability to “check out the dog tags you have collected” among other things.
There is also a leaderboards feature as well as a News Feed to keep players right up to date with all the happenings on in everything Battlefield.
It’s interesting that EA should launch the app now, a considerable time after the game’s release, none-the-less the Battlelog app is here and is something that fans of the series should definitely check out.
The Battlelog app is available to download absolutely free of cost, which is great, and weighs in at just over 14MB, which is a bit chunky for its size but not really that big a deal.
