Any tips on writing an essay for college?

Im starting to apply at certain schools and my top school right now is Philadelphia Biblical University. So i wanted to start getting everything ready and done as soon as possible. Their website says students can apply when ever up until the deadline (obviously) but if you can give me any tips on writing an essay for college (bible college in particular) that would be great.
