Am i the only one????

Question

the day i get my period each month i have to stay home in bed because my cramps hurt so bad, and i have diarrhea all day. is anyone else like this?

I'm not, but my mom has told me that she had cramps when she was younger. I'm sure you're not alone. :)

NO unfortunately you are not alone!!  That is what day 3 of my period is like for me.  LOTS of ibuprophen every 6 hours and a heating pad on low temp can help with the cramps.  A warm bath and drinking lots of water can also help.  Whether or not you've had s*x has nothing to do with it (Supernova??).  I started my period at age 9 and didn't become active until about 17, my periods were painful long before I began having s*x.  If it's only one day a month or even just a couple then maybe birthcontrol can help, I've had endometriosis which is related to the pain that I experience and have had to have three surgeries because of it.  If the pain gets worse or you start to get back pain and experience worse symptoms you should see an OB.  Yes, lots of people have bad periods but modern medicine has advanced to a point where we should not have to suffer like this!  Good luck.  If possible, find a female OB, I've had better luck with them.  A man can listen to us complain and read about it all they want but they will never have a clue what we go through on a monthly basis!!!

Are you on the pill?  When I got on birth control my cramps got a lot better and my period became a lot lighter, so maybe it will help for you :]

Mines isn't like that... but my mum told me that when she was young she had reaaaaally bad cramps that were so bad she could barely move. The only way she could get through it was to sleep. So yes its unusual... but its not completely unheard of :) x

you may have an ovarian cyst or fibroid. let your doc know about it and the severity of it. it may be something that can be fixed with birth control
