Allowed to share purchased serial number with others

Question

When an asker here at Yahoo Answers is asking for a serial number, am I allowed to give that. I have purchased the program legally.

I know of someone who did give the serial number of SpeedUpMyPc to an asker and found out the next morning, that his account was canceled by Yahoo.

I like answering questions and would hate my account to be closed.

So, can I or can I not, help someone with a serial number,

Your serial number that you purchased entitles you(in general) to one copy of the program.  By giving someone a serial # and allowing them to bypass paying for the software you are breaking the TOS of yahoo not to mention the law. So don't do it.

Just because you purchased the material does not give you the right to share the serial number with others, in fact it's considered software p****y and is a federal criminal offence.

In other words, don't do it if you know what's good for you, not only will your account likely be cancelled, you could end up with the feds on your doorstep, I'm not exagerating.

serial numbers are proof of purchase

they need to do the right thing and get a serial number by purchasing the product
