Afridi not expecting wonders from team in upcoming World Cup

Pakistan team Manager, Intikhab Alam mentioned that the Pakistan team is fully capable of winning the World Cup 2011 which will be jointly held in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Bangladesh-c747 and Sri-Lanka. The comments from Intikhab Alam were optimistic

doesn’t share the same feelings. Afridi has said that he doesn’t expect Pakistan to do wonders in the upcoming World Cup. According to Afridi, the controversy stricken Pakistan team will have a tough outing in the World Cup.
Afridi’s comments came just one day after Intikhab Alam’s comments. Afridi believes that his team is surrounded by far too many controversies which have affected the preparations for the World Cup badly.
Afridi also denied commenting on the selection matters. He said that it would be better to get the information regarding the selection of players from the Selection Committee itself. Two key players, Kamran Akmal and Shoaib Malik
were ignored for the tour of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/New-Zealand-c754. Both the players performed exceptionally well in domestic matches. Mohammad Yousuf was also not selected as he was unable to prove his fitness and form to the selectors. After the team was announced, both Akmal and
Malik expressed their unhappiness and said that they did what they had to do to impress the selectors. They wanted a clear statement by the Selection Committee on being ignored for the important series before the World Cup.

well and guided the team to victory. In one of the matches Pakistan had won, veteran Younis Khan played a gem of an innings and led his side to victory. Abdul Razzak also scored a memorable century in one match to guide Pakistan to an epic one wicket victory.
The upcoming series of Pakistan against the New Zealand team would also be very crucial for both the nations. Both the teams are low on confidence and it would be a good opportunity for these teams to perform well prior to the
World Cup and gain some confidence. The players would also be under immense pressure to do well to cement a spot in the final squad for the mega event which will be held in 2011.
Pakistan will be announcing their 30 man provisional squad for the World Cup on the 19th
