  1. pros - it gives a lot of energy, imagine a hut-size plant giving energy to a city, that's how powerful it is. does not need fuel which will certainly affect the price of your electric bill.

    cons - too destructive to nature especially wastes, too dangerous since you're dealing with atoms. if something went wrong, this may lead into an atomic blast.


  2. Assuming that you are asking about reactive power in ac electric circuits, here are a few key points:

    Advantage:  It is a necessary part of induction, and thus transformer operation.

    Disadvantage:  While reactive power does no real work, it does increase the total current flowing in a circuit, and thus increases resistive losses in the circuit.

    A colleague of mine liked to relate reactive power to the foamy head on beer.  Without the foam, your beer would be flat and not taste good.  But, too much foam wastes capacity in the glass.  The challenge is to get the right amount of reactive power to serve the purpose, but not so much as to waste electrical system capacity
