...business's like mine, are supposed to be able to order such large quantites of goods-the large volume of goods would not all fit in my store or shop! :0(

For example, I wanted to import baby dresses for my baby shop, but the company's MOQ(minimum order quantity) for 1 style of dress was 1500 dress's! It would cost me a fortune if I wanted to order a few different styes of dress.

Am I looking at the wrong suppliers? Are these suppliers designed to sell dresses onto wholesalers, rather than to smaller clothes stores like mine?

Please help!!!

  1. I think we can be a trade partner since I live in Hong Kong and want to strat my business, I can help you to source different type of baby/children dress here, the cost is cheap and the MOQ can discuss(around 50 pcs), even other types of good I can source here, if you are interested to be my trade partner, we can discuss more, contact me: ivycmtse@yahoo.com.hk

  2. Most of the companies on Alibaba are manufacturers and are only interested in supplying bulk quantities to multiples or wholesalers that make it worth their while making - e.g. 1000 or even 10,000 pieces and sometime simply by 20ft full container load. If you think about it a manufacturer is going to make your dresses to order, they might have 100 people on a production line making them, so 1500 dresses might  only take them 1 day to make, any less than that would still take one day to make as you cannot switch production on to a different product midway through a single day economically. You might also have tooling costs involved which cost the same over 1 or 1000 items, if you want a special colour it is only economic to dye upwards of 1000 yards of cloth and so on. If you only want to order smaller quantities you can only really do so via wholesalers or agents like the Hong Kong contact on here.
