If a summons to appear in court is being deliverd to your house and you dont recieve it because you are not home are you just dont open the door, what happens from there

  1. In a criminal summons, in some cases, the judge can order a 'writ of attachment' which will result in the person being placed in jail to be held until such time as the court requires their testimony.


  2. You have to know the law in your state and if it's civil or criminal. Some have to be served personally (put into you hand or dropped at your feet). Some just have to be delivered or mailed to your home. If it's criminal, they'll just cut a warrant if you don't show.
