  1. Premier account. A business account is good if you plan to sell hundreds of items per year, but not for people just selling a few odds and ends to clean out the basement.

You don't need a card at all at PayPal.  A bank account will do.  If you decide to buy items on eBay, I recommend using a credit card through PayPal.

  2. Yep you need a Biz PayPal account and the accept credit and debit card.  You can get a PayPal credit card if you like.

Just bare in mind that selling on eBay can get a little expensive - with all those fees to pay.  Youll end up paying out more than making money now theyve raised their fees.

If its for you thats fine.

  3. Don't forget to over-estimate the shipping costs or you will get stuck with those.  I think EBAY is a rip off sometimes.

  4. It is a thin line to walk. PayPal charges a percentage (like ebay does) for the final price it was sold for. We do not accept PayPal, but have our own commercial site and pay a monthly fee to accept credit cards anyway. The bright side is that free long distance phone calls are available to most people these days. The thin line is that a lot of customers like the convenience of PayPal, and we usually have to supply an answer as to why we made their lives so miserable. It all depends on what you are selling. We sometimes sell items only for a dollar. If we accepted PayPal, we'd make a grand profit of about twenty cents, not to mention the effort to put it up on ebay to begin with.

There is a way to get around the extra fees if you own a web site, but if you accept PayPal on ebay, you must accept ALL types of payments, and cannot pick the method.
