  1. Don't hit yourself on the head repeatedly with the telescope.

Don't jam the telescope into your eye.

Don't eat the telescope... unless its chocolate.

The telescope is not an alternative to the classical nut-cracker for cracking nuts.

You can only juggle with telescopes, if you know how to juggle.

Don't throw your telescope at anyone, unless they can catch... but its still not a good idea.

    Use your telescope wisely.

Always ask your parents before using a telescope.

If a telescope starts talking to you, walk away from it.

  2. The only significant danger occurs if you point the scope at the Sun. If you are looking through the scope at the time, you can be permanently blinded pretty quickly. Issues like lifting the scope weight during setup are sort of intuitive, and of course you should always dress a little warmer than you think you need to. If you are joining others, it is common courtesy to turn off your lights when you arrive or leave early, and you should be very careful with a laser pointer, since they can also cause eye damage if they are aimed at someone instead of at the sky where they belong.
