1994 chevy blazer need to know how hard is it to change from 4 wheeldrive to a 2 wheeldrive?

it has the 4.3 motor in it.wanting to put a 350 transmission in it to change over to a two wheel from a 4 wheel drive and will i have to change driveshaft

  1. it wont be that bad but just make sure that the new trans that you want to use mates with the engine properly.  once you have ensured a good fit then just take off the old one and the transfer case and install the new one with a driveshaft designed for the trans.  you should be able to find it online or ask a shop to advise you in the matter.


  2. You will need a new crossmember for the transmission. Your factory rear driveshaft is too short, but can be lengthened to fit (amount depends on tranny short or long tail shaft). You may need a conversion u-joint to work with the yoke on the tranny.

    On the front, you can remove the front differential housing, and the front halfshafts (but slight modifications will need to be done on the front end because the half shaft is part of the hub.).
