  1. Look at the best fighters and you will have the best trainers.

  2. Rocky Balboa's trainer Mickey.  He always knew how to motivate Rocky during the fight, and even after he died Rocky got motivation from Micky.

  3. Teddy Atlas

He trained Mike Tyson while he was in his early teens

and led Michael Moorer to the heavyweight championship over Evander Holyfield

  4. enzo calzagne

  5. Nacho Bernstein (spelling?)

    Roach

    Steward

    Floyd Mayweather & Roger Mayweather

  6. Mike Bell

  7. I think the top guys are about equal. It depends more on what fighter they are working with. Some trainers may be better than others with a particular fighter or style. Steward, Roach, Atlas.

  8. emanuel stewart or floyd mayweather sr

  9. Well lets start off by getting the true meaning in gym terms for trainer/coach which are two different types.

I will score a couple of well known trainers on a scale of 1 to 10 with 10 being best.

Freddie Roach is an excellent "coach", he gives great instructions & knows how to take his opponents apart. As far as training a fighter, he really doesn't do this. All of his fighters were already made but can work with anytype of fighter.

Coaching ability - 10 - Training ability - 5 (only because he doesn't actually train fighters) Im sure he could.

Nacho Berenstien - Excellent Trainer & Coach but is more  suited for a slower more methodical type of fighter (boxer/puncher). He can make good fighters & he gives good advise as a coach.

    Coaching ability - 9 - Training Ability - 9

Roger Mayweather - is good trainer but is more of a hype man. He pumps his fighters up rather then give them good advice on how to dissect his opponent. He also, like Nacho is catered to one style of fighter, a speedy slick fighter with lots of movement. Those are his type of fighters.

    Coaching ability - 7 - Training ability - 9

Emmanuel Steward - Is another Freddie Roach type coach very intelligent but doesn't spend enough time anymore but has done some good things with fighters.

Coaching ability - 10 - Training Ability - 9 only because he doesn't put in much work anymore with fighters.

Now that you got my meanings on "coach & trainer" here goes my list from best to worst.

    Best Coaches/trainers

    Emanuel Steward - #1

    Freddie Roach - #2

    Nacho Beranstien - #3

Rudy Perez - Marco Antonio Barrera very good

    Joe Goossen - #4

    Jimmy Montoya - #5

After these guys you have guys that are good like,

Eddie Mustafa, Jesse Reed & so on.

Montoya had Salvador Sanchez, Hector Comacho, Tony Beltazar & lots of other fighters who made it big but many years ago.

Also remember these are only the guys we know today, Buddy is decent at best but was a great fighter.

  10. Emanuel Steward

    Freddie Roach

those are prolly the best and most popular trainers of this era.

  11. There seem to be guys no one has ever heard of - that turn their whole communities around..so here's a vote for the clint eastwood types.

  12. I think Emmanuel Stewart gets better results from the boxers he trains. I would say he is one of the premier trainers of the day.

  13. I would want Teddy Atlas or Floyd Mayweather Sr why becasue both guys are tough trainers. They yell and scream and thats what i need someone thats going to yell and push me i couldnt have a nice guy tranier

  14. if i were a boxer and to choose one today i would probably go with buddy mcgirt.

  15. I would probably pick teddy Atlas of Roger Mayweather, but the most important thing is finding a trainer who understands your style and trains you to improve it.

  16. Floyd Mayweather Sr

    Roger Mayweather

    Freddie Roach

    Emanuel Steward

  17. I can't pick just one, but here are a few that I think are really good:

    Floyd Mayweather, Sr.

    Roger Mayweather

    Jeff Mayweather

    Freddie Roach

    Emmanuel Steward

Buddy McGirt (hasn't been doing well lately though)

    Eddie Mustapha Muhammad

    John David Jackson

    Ronnie Shields

    Nacho Beristain

    Rudy Perez

    Kevin Cunningham

Teddy Atlas (hasn't trained anyone in a while)

    Joe Goosen
