My husband and I have always wanted to travel the length of the Murray River beginning in Wodonga, VIC and travelling across the SA border to the Murray Bridge. What towns, attractions and activities we should do along the way. We will be on a houseboat most of the time, but will also travel by hire car

  1. Before you go check that the water level is enough to travel as far as you wish to go as they have been having some problems with the drought.I found Renmark in SA a beautiful spot so nice we stayed for a few days, but unsure if you can travel there by Houseboat. Have a great holiday.

  2. Echuca, I have to agree with the others.

I know heaps of other people who go there regularly and love it too.

Go there in summer so you can swim :P

  3. I agree, Echuca/Moama is a great spot. A houseboat is so much fun!

    This should help:

  4. Echucka (I can't spell!) is very nice and it's right next to the Murray river. They have some very nice shops from like the 1800's. They also have a Ripley's Beleive it or not museum (Not fully sure it's open). It's a very nice town to stop at.

  5. Echuca is really interesting, also Swan Hill and Mildura.

In SA Swan Reach and Mannum are great. There are several places in SA with stunning yellow cliffs along the Murray. Just awesome.

Don't miss the Murtho lookout near Paringa close to the SA/Vic border.

  6. Echuca is all right i live near it about 15 min i live on the goulbourne river. I would say mildura i think that's how its spelt i think that it is a nice place.
