Puget Sound Region gets the grant for volleyball development – Volleyball news
The Volleyball governing authority in United State of America, the USAV, is always eager and upfront to provide help to its associates for the sake of game’s development.
The USA Volleyball has around 40 Regional Volleyball Associations attached with it. Recently, the USAV awarded a Boys’ Development Subsidy Grant to the Puget Sound Region. The Puget Sound has been awarded the grant for the 2011 calendar year that just ended.
The Grant must be used to create more opportunities for boys of 14 years old or younger. The recipient of the grant is expected to enhance the volleyball programs for the young crop of players in its particular region.
The sole purpose of the grant is to attract the young athletes to the sport of volleyball but at the same time, the Puget Sound Region will offer support to the coaches and volleyball instructor to be a part of development program.
The PSR will reimburse the costs associated with IMPACT (Increased Mastery and Professional Application of Coaching Theory) courses for first-time boys’ coaches on a new team. In order to do so, the grant will offer a 50 percent subsidy of registration fees
and background checks to new boys’ coaches.
Speaking of the Puget Sound Region, the USA Volleyball Manager of Region Services Programs Donise King stated, “Puget Sound has worked very hard in getting this new program off the ground with the hiring of an experienced USA Volleyball ex-commissioner in
Allan Chinn. With Allan at the helm of this new project, he has shown his dedication to making this exciting and successful for the Puget Sound members.”
The Puget Sound Region has been very active on the scene in the last season. They did a great job in promoting the challenging sport of volleyball in the region. They arranged different programs and set up attractive activities for aspiring young players.
Continuing with the same passion, they are determined to focus on establishing a sustainable base to grow the sport of boys’ volleyball from the age of 10 all the way through the high school age groups.
The USAV is very pleased to offer help to Puget Sound in the development of boys’ teams and intends to continue to support initiatives for the development of volleyball programming.
