The Giallorossi boss hails the win over Parma, but urges his team to improve on their weaknesses; the manager also hails Fabio Borini
AS manager Luis Enrique is not totally happy with his side despite the 1-0 win over Parma at weekend. Borini’s first-half strike against his parent club helped the Giallorossi to move to the 5th place in the table. Roma have had an inconsistent league campaign so far, having dropped many cheap points against easy
The capital side once again dominated majority of the possession and missed several goal-scoring opportunities. Enrique is happy with the three points from the game, but insists that the Gialloblu were inconsistent once again.
However, the manager believes that his team is constantly improving, and they defended extremely well against Donadoni’s men.
The former B coach believes that his team has made big inroads after struggling in the opening ten games of the season.
While talking to the reporters, Luis Enrique said,
“I am very happy with the three points and the squad did very well today, even when defending. We still lack consistency, though, as that is what’s missing now. We need the right attitude and I believe we’ve made big steps forward
compared to the opening 10 rounds of the season.”
Enrique is looking forward to the next game against Atalanta, and has urged his team to take the Orobics seriously. After taking on Atalanta, Roma will face bitter rivals, Lazio, in the local derby, and Enrique has already set
his sights on a win over the Biancazzurri.
“What do we need to be consistent? That’s the million dollar question… Now we have to go forward and face a very difficult trip to Atalanta. I am optimistic and we are all waiting for the derby with I expect to win it.”
The tactician also heaped praise on in-form, and insisted that the striker has surprised him with the quality he has shown so far.
As a result of the win, Roma replace Milan in the 5th spot in the Serie A table.
