  1. Back in the 60's, I remember having to re-dye our dance tights for gym class.  That entailed using boiling water with the powdered RIT Brand fabric dye added to the pot & stirring them for apx 30 minutes to get a deep black color!

  2. You got me on that one. Never heard of it. The only thing close was tye dying t shirts. lol

  3. No. But I used to boil T shirts with knots and rubber bands to see what funky patterns I could come up with :-p

    xx

  4. I am from the midwest and I don't remember my mother ever doing that, and I certainly never have.

  5. Yes. It didn't half p*ss off the women who were wearing them at the time.

    :-)

  6. This is going back about 50 years but I remember women boiling mismatched nylon hose so they would all be the same color.  I never tried it with pantyhose or tights.

  7. Nope! But I've been tight and colored some boils.

  8. I have no idea of what you are talking about. Sorry!

  9. It was stockings and they came out a mottled colour usually. I even used to put either brewed tea or "percolated" coffee with them to try to even out the colour. If we couldn't afford stockings we used to have to draw a line of eyeliner down the back of our legs so they looked like we were wearing stockings with seams in them.
