AC Milan CEO Adriano Galliani confirms signing of Philippe Mexes and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Taye-Taiwo-c34728 - Serie A news
AC Milan’s Chief Executive, Adriano Galliani, has revealed that the Rossoneri would be recruiting new blood for their squad during the summers. He also confirmed the signing of defenders, Philippe Mexes and Taye Taiwo, and stated that this was just the start
of Milan’s drive to bring some fresh legs in order to bolster their squad.
The CEO was talking in the wake of his team’s Serie A triumph after playing out a 0-0 draw against AS http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roma-c31603. He also assured that Milan would continue bringing new faces into their line-up, which would enable them to go one step ahead during the upcoming
2011/12 season. Galliani seemed ecstatic at his team’s performance throughout the season and promised that the fans would see them advance further in UEFA Champions League next year.
Centre-back Mexes spent seven years with fellow Serie A outfit AS Roma and made 183 appearances for the club. He also bagged 11 goals during that time. The defender would be hoping to prove himself at Milan where he will be officially presented at the start
of the next season.
The Nigerian International, Taiwo, is currently an Olympique Marseille player and has appeared 187 times for the Ligue 1 outfit. The 26-year-old left back has also made 48 International appearances for the Nigerian national side from which he has five goals
under his belt so far. He too will be hoping to prove his mettle in front of manager Massimiliano Allegri.
Some reports have suggested that Milan would also be recruiting a midfielder during the summer but the CEO has refrained from disclosing the name so far. AC Milan were previously linked with US Palermo sensation, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Javier-Pastore-c18082, but the Rossoneri are unwilling
to match the asking price of the 21-year-old.
Galliani concluded by saying, "We have already bought Mexes and Taiwo, but I do not do names. But we'll definitely buy some more players, the squad will be further reinforced."
AC Milan have already won the Serie A and are left with two games to play in the current campaign. They are next up against Cagliari in the league on Saturday, May 14, before they close the season against Udinese on Sunday, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/May-22-c39884.
