Tebow withdraws his name from the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am
In an official statement released by the AT&T Pro-Am Tournament Director Steve Worthy, it was disclosed that Denver Broncos quarterback Tim Tebow will not be able to take part in the event because of the recent injury he suffered in the playoff against New
England Patriots.
The AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am will not be witnessing the presence of Tim Tebow.
The event is expected to go underway from the 9th till the 12th of February. "Due to the injuries, it looks like he's a no-go," Worthy said.
It was at the start of the third quarter when Tebow, during the game, tore his cartilage on his rib that is attached directly to his sternum.
The injury he received caused considerable damage to his lung and pleural cavity.
However, despite serious injuries, medical sources and experts have disclosed that a surgery will not be required for complete recovery.
In addition to this, it has also been stated that his schedule, regarding downtime and offseason training program, will not suffer from the accident.
Nevertheless, Tebow’s absence will be compensated by the presence of two other high-profile NFL personalities who have shown their inclination to participate in the event.
These include Patriots coach Bill Belichick and quarterback Tom Brady. Interestingly, it is because of these two people that Tebow is not able to make it to the AT&T Pebble Beach National.
The incident came as dual shock for the team as they temporarily lost their quarterback for a couple of games and concurrently suffered a dip in their position at the points table, after losing the game 45-10 against Patriots.
In addition to this, there is also good news for Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo who has also announced his participation in the event.
Sources reveal that Todd Archer from ESPNDallas.com disclosed that Romo will be participating in the event as the partner of the reputable and veteran American golfer Tiger Woods.
For an extensive period of time, golfers have collaborated with NFL players to add greater excitement and exhilaration to the game.
Furthermore, this will also be pivotal in adding greater entertainment to the game overall.
