Sreesanth apologises for misbehaviour
Indian medium pace bowler http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Shanthakumaran-Sreesanth-c89725 has apologised for his behaviour on Thursday during the third Test match against South Africa.
“I think it was anger at the spur of the moment and I’m sorry for that,” the temperamental bowler conceded.
He was fined 10 per cent of his total match fee on the fourth day of the third and final Test match between http://www.senore.com/Cricket/South-Africa-c757 in Cape Town on Wednesday.
The Indian pacer kicked the boundary rope as he vented his frustration after his two appeals for leg before were overturned by the umpire during a spell.
The match referee booked him for breaching the International Cricket Council Code of Conduct. He pleaded guilty to conducting the Level 1 offence of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Team Officials.
The ICC said in a statement that Sreesanth has been found guilty of breaching the Level 1 offence that relates to “Abuse of cricket equipment or clothing, ground equipment or fixtures and fittings.”

Sreesanth stated that he was fortunate enough to have escaped a much harsher punishment of being banned by the match referee.
“I’m lucky it’s just a 10 percent fine and I thought it could be a ban or something. I was worried but thank God,” he added.
This is not the first time the fiery bowler is under the spotlight for his on field conduct. He was seen exchanging some stern words with the Proteas captain Graeme Smith during the Durban Test.
Smith was hit sharply on the finger when Sreesanth bowled his third delivery. Smith was seen pointing his bat towards Sreesanth and the two players were involved in an altercation.
The Indian team itself were slapped by a fine after they were found guilty of maintaining a slow over-rate during South Africa’s second innings.
Indian captain MS Dhoni’s side were penalised by match referee Andy Pycroft after they were found to be three overs short of their target.
Dhoni was fined 60 per cent of his match fee while his teammates were slapped a 30 per cent fine of their match fees.
