  1. So m is a set of points with x=4a and y=3b+2ab. Use it in given eq.

    4a+2(3b+2ab)-2=0 Now solve for b

    4a+6b+4ab-2=0

    2b(3+2a)=2(1-2a)

    b=(1-2a)/(3+2a)

    So that is it!

    I hope you understand and good luck!

  2. I am assuming that m(4a,3b+2ab) is a point on the graph. With this assumption in mind, we travel forward.

    x+2y-2=0   insert the points into the equation

    4a+2(3b+2ab)-2=0 multiply it out

    4a+6b+4ab-2=0 divide the equation by 2

    2a+2ab+3b-1=0 bring non a terms over

    2a=-(3b+2ab-1)  divide by 2

    a=-(3b+2ab-1)/2

    Trying to factor the a out of the 2ab in the equation results in its own problem. You would end up with (2a+3)(1+b)=1. This results in 2a+2ab+3b+3=1 which is not the same as 2a+2ab+3b-1=0. Hope this helps.
