Hi my bunny Gayego, has fleas, she must have gotten it from my mum's dog or my cats. How do I get rid of them, do I have to buy special flea medicine. She won't let me use a flea comb to get the fleas.

Need help

please and thank you

  1. Frontline has killed rabbits! Never use it on small animals.

    You can use Advantage though.

  2. Your best bet is to get a flea shampoo.  Use it and hopefully the fleas will go away.  Don't take it to the vet; it's very unnecessary for something this minor.

  3. I second the opinion on do not use Frontline. Frontline is fine for cat or dogs, but it kills rabbits. Please do not use a "flea shampoo" or "flea and tick powder" either.

It is not as simple as getting rid of fleas on her, you must also rid the other pets in the house of fleas. Advantage by Bayer is a good product for use on the cats and dog in the household. Don't be fooled by the over the counter "flea drop" products found in pet stores. These are often not safe and could harm your pets.

A flea comb only removes the fleas currently on your rabbit, not the fleas still in your household. You can use Advantage by Bayer on your rabbit.

  4. WHATEVER YOU DO DO NOT USE FRONTLINE IT KILLS RABBITS!

i had a rabbit that got fleas and i used frontline because this idiot veterinarian told us to use it and it killed him! :(

...when we went back to the vet to tell the veterinarian about it he said that we were crazy and that he never said to use frontline and admitted that it kills rabbits!

it even says on the bottle that its not safe for rabbits....you have to peel back the label to see it

  5. frontline it's only $20 and works like a charm, if you don't like chemichals you could put a little garlic in it's food it takes longer but works.

    good luck.
