Is it OK for women to travel alone?

Iam from India and I love travelling to different places and sightseeing. But Iam not able to do that because I dont have company. Is it OK for a woman to go on vacations by themselves. How safe is it.

If you are the confident type and extroverted in nature, why not. Travel to safer regions. Before you go, do your research on the internet, read travel guides, get info from ppl. As a lone female traveller, of course you have to take extra precaution and be more discerning in areas or with ppl whose characters you are in doubt about. If this is the first time travelling, how about trying Singapore ?

Go on, take the plunge and have a nice vacation.

You have freedom to do as you wish. No one can stop you. If you wish to have company, you can.

But there is nothing wrong in travelling alone.

It doesn't mean that you cannot go because of being a citizen of a country or belong to a cerain caste.

In western and most developed countries, it is safe to travel alone.  I have done so, many times.

You are fine traveling as a woman alone in the West and in some developed non-western countries (like Dubai).

What in the world lady?? I mean come on, why in the world not? Of course it is! Just make sure you don't go to places where it's better to be a mongrel dog than a woman. Yes, those places actually exist... Absurdly and ridiculously enough...

But yes, travelling if you're a she is totally safe! I personally prefer to travel with my family cause it's nicer to have your loved ones near when sharing great moments right? You wanna comment on something, share things, have them watch your stuff when you need to go to the restroom... You know? All that stuff! I personally rather have a loved one to talk to at all times actually but if you do want to fly solo go ahead and just do it! Plan it carefully and do it! There are many wonderful, beautiful gorgeous places for you to go and have the time of your life so just go for it!

Friend,

One of my friend have travelled all the way from India to US all alone. Her age is just 16. Amazing right. Her parents are in US. She travelled all the way alone to meet them.

If sightseeing is your what you love, just get to know what are the best places in the world for that, rather than planning of how to go and with whom do u go.
