Anyone been to Iceland? If you have, please tell as much information as you can about where to go?

I'm heading there in a couple of days.  This will be my third time going!  I'm Icelandic, but I live in the US.

Iceland is fantastic.  There's no snow in the summer... (first answer, sheesh).  The scenery is the most beautiful in the world, I think.  You feel rejuvenated there (in the summer there's 22 hours of daylight!!!).  It's a good place for nature lovers, and everyone else in between.  It's safe, friendly, and incredibly breathtaking.

Check out Reykjavik, obviously.  I would also recommend visiting Akureyri or Hofn.  If you're really adventurous, take the Ring Road --- it's a road that circles around the entire country --- that's what I'm doing this summer!

there is not snow in the summers there.

Go to Akureyri ...its in the north of iceland and is a much better town than Reykjavik.

I find people in Reykjavik rud....but maybe its just me .....but lots of people say Akureyri is better.

i like the small towns on the east too...
